For the Healthiest Tan… Start with the Healthiest Skin
Exfoliate your skin Two to Three nights consecutively up until the day of your spray tan (if time allows). This promotes even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan. If exfoliating the day of your appointment, use an Oil Free product.. Baking Soda works great!!!
Important areas to exfoliate well: Neck, Chest, Crease of Arms, Behind the Knees and Feet.
Wax a minimum of 24 hours before your tanning appointment.
Shave 8 hours before or after post tanning shower. Use a sharp, clean razor, with a lubricating product.
Remove or avoid wearing make-up and moisturizer, deodorant as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the process from working properly.
Wear dark, loose fitting clothing and undergarments post your tanning appointment. (spray solution will wash out of most fabrics but may stain nylons, lycra and silks)
Maintaining Your Tan
For a Beautiful Long Lasting Tan… Follow a Healthy Skin Regimen.
Wait at least 8 to 10 hours before showering when spray tanned with Regular Solution.
When sprayed with Express Solution, follow the directions of the Tanning Artist, as there will be a specific time to rinse (water only, NO SOAP)
Apply moisturizer morning and evening after your post-tan shower. Avoid moisturizers with AHA. (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) This ingredient promotes exfoliation.
Avoid long, hot showers and baths, and scrubbing the skin. Choose a wash cloth that is as soft as possible and pat your skin dry. (Try an infant’s wash cloth) Excessive friction on the skin may fade your tan prematurely.
Shave with a new sharp razor with a lubricating product to avoid exfoliation in those areas.
Chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs can remove or shorten the longevity of your tan.
